As ABN Amro says, clients tend to favour wearingables over using debitards.
At the beginning of the year, ABN Amro started a test project in which 500 customers were asked to make payment with wearingables. Among these customers, an astonishing 78 percent favor the wearable, and only 19 percent favor their debit card. Customers pay on avarage six times a weeks for sums below 25 Euro.
The ABN AMRO project extends the ABN AMRO project to test new functionality with this group. Customers gave us feed-back during the flight via a special application. A number of their proposals resulted in adaptations while the project continued, and new functions are now being built on others. Most customers wanted to be able to see the payment with the portable real-time in their mobile banking application, and not a days later as is now the case.
In addition, customers want to be able to make payment over 25 Euro with their wearingables and pin numbers.
