Consumers credit licenses | Consumers credit licenses

When your company provides credit or loans to a consumer or gives a customer a period to buy goods and provide a service, it must be licenced by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). EZV maintains a consumer credit register, which is a published register of all authorised dealers and all persons who have requested a license.

Beware of handling or receiving phone calls from credit institutions that charge in advance and are not interested in your credit histories. The number of credit fraud cases has increased by 50%, in particular for credit claims where the consumer sends charges in advance, sometimes via wire transfers.

Were you contacted by a credit shark? No. Borrowing unlicensed cash is against the law. Use caution when someone calls unannounced and offers a credit. Companies must be authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority to grant consumer credit.
