The credit rehabilitation hospitals burden the consumer with between 50 and 2,000 dollars and often use dubious manners. The majority of hospitals make deceptive claims to the consumer and demand high charges for what you could do yourself - or just take your cash and do nothing. These are some joint pledges from credit hospitals and the reason why customers should be wary of such claims: "On the basis of little-known holes in the German credit law, we can show you how to clear up your credit information! "These " holes are merely the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) rules under which you have the right to contest information in your credit reports that you believe isfalse.

What do we do if you have a bad credit report? "Credit rehabilitation centers often inundate credit bureaux with the request to confirm that all adverse information is accurate or incorrect. The credit hospitals are hoping that they will not be able to review the information within a timely manner, so the adverse information will have to be discarded under the terms of the FCR.

In some credit centers, even instruct the consumer to contest unbiased information (e.g. name and address) in the hope of distorting the date so that the old bad date is no longer recognizable when a vendor asks for a consumer's name. Debtors and credit bureaux have become acquainted with such policies and have tried to use the FCRA's rules, which allow them to ignore "frivolous" disagreements over record information and decline to react to repeated disagreements over the same records.

" A number of hospitals tell customers to settle all invoices due to the lender in return for the elimination of bad information. Or they can tell a consumer who has a collection bank that he has to settle part of the amount with a cheque. Examination is to wear a discolaimer stating that by honouring the cheque the holder consents to removing the bank from the collection and to removing any adverse information about the bank from his data-file.

There is no requirement for believers to approve such actions, and the charges made to hospitals for such counseling are isted. "Even if you were bankrupt, we can get you a big credit-card. "What you're not getting is that you have to "secure" the map first.

The majority of credit or debit card transactions are not secure, i.e. you do not pledge any of your property as security for a loan that you can use. Security is provided to a credit or debit cardholder when a consumer makes a payment to the merchant's account and receives a credit or debit cardholder's account with a credit line calculated on the basis of a certain amount of that payment.

Whilst a secure credit can be an invaluable instrument for reconstructing credit, why should you choose to make payment to the credit institution just to submit an order and a payment form? Frequently, for-profit or non-preventive counselling organisations make commitments that they cannot or do not want to keep. A number of states have passed legislation to safeguard the consumer from the misleading practice of many credit institutes.

In general, these state legislations demand that credit hospitals notify the consumer of their right under the terms of the FCR; be tied (have some kind of consumer protection assurance that can sue) if they agree to payments in advance; describe exactly what they can and cannot do; and provide a notice before a service agreement that the consumer can subscribe to comes into force.

Ask your public prosecutor if there are any credit clinic rules in your country. In order to verify a company's image, consult your public prosecutor, consumer authority or Better Business Bureau. These authorities are in charge of the enforcement of federal credit transaction regulation legislation.

Any question concerning a particular cardholder should be addressed to the competent executing body of that cardholder.
