CML Lender Handbook The CML Lender Manual
Council for Mortgage Lenders is the professional organisation of private mortgage lenders. While not all of these lenders are members, CML members represent around 95% of UK mortgage credit, which includes lenders, bankers and home loan and savings institutions. Supporting attorneys, sponsors, seekers, and other organizations may be associated members. The lender manual issued by CML is of particular importance for lawyers and home purchasers.
It contains the regulations that lawyers and licensed sponsors must obey when they act in relation to mortgage loans. There are two parts to the CML Manual, Part 1 refers to the general requirement and Part 2 contains the lender's own unique instruction on particulars. This manual explains which real estate securities are admissible, the demands that lenders must make when searching for real estate, and many other details to make sure that lenders receive good collateral.
How is the Council of Mortgage Banks doing? CML' s objective is to create a supportive operational climate in the UK real estate and mortgage sectors. She is the prestigious voice-over of the private mortgage sector and the key supplier of business, statistics, legal, research and other information on the mortgage sector.
