More and more they are worried about the spread of new applications using the " screening scrapping " technique to scratch and scanned consumer information. Considering the number of unique user IDs that the general user must recall today, ID aggregate applications may seem appealing, but they can also be risky. An analyst warns bankers and shoppers not to be seduced by comfort at the cost of safety. "It is important to keep in minds the fact that the scammer in account management needs only one single keyword to aggregate your account information.

Once users consider the use of these applications to be natural and okay, scammers will quickly capitalize by enticing them to insecure platforms," says Albert van Wyk, Head of Fraud & Identity at Experian A/NZ. "There is a potential danger that users may accidentally down-load deceptive screening scrapping or keyword escalation applications to gain immediate exposure to a scammer.

" He points out that even if they are downloading the right app, they run the risks of attaching an attachment to the app that could be sending information to unauthorized people. Use different password for all your clients; never save or transmit your information via text message or e-mail; never conduct business on government network such as Wi-Fi; only use government applications; and always password protected your wireless devices.
