Quicken Loans has been in business for how long?NBA All-Star for Cleveland secured for Arena renovations
The NBA has heralded that Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena will be hosting its 2022 All-Star Game, with the redesign of the facility a critical element in bringing the tournament back to the Cavaliers' home. It celebrates the League's 75-year existence with the All-Star Game on 20 February 2022.
Cavaliers previously host the NBA All-Star in 1997, when the NBA celebrates its fiftieth birthday, and in 1981. Municipal officers estimated that All-Star will bring 100 million dollars (76.7 million pounds / 87.4 million euros) to the area, with an agreement that has been the object of long discussions with the Liga. The Quicken Loans Arena is currently in an extensive renovation phase, which began in September 2017.
Planned to be completed in the 2019 season, Dan Gilbert, proprietor of Dan Gavaliers, pledged an additional $45 million in personal funds for the renovations in September. As a result, the team's present level of personal financing commitments increased to over $115 million, with the total costs of the $185 million effort. Initial $140 million capital spending was divided 50-50 between the gentlemen and government funds.
It is a push for the Cavaliers, who are currently in the midst of a transformation following the defeat of LeBron James to the Los Angeles Lakers. Adam Silver, NBA Commissar, acknowledged that the renovation of the stadium was a major factor in the arrival of All-Star 2022 in Cleveland. After this year's Staples Center in Los Angeles, the All-Star will travel to Spectrum Center, Charlotte; United Center, Chicago; and Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, in the next three years.
