Local Mortgage
MortgageToday, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau/ CFPB unveiled a new on-line utility that uses information gathered under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) to produce informative thermal charts and graphics that make local mortgage lending increasingly available and understandable to the consumer, according to an office news announcement. This instrument "concentrates on the number of mortgage requests and conclusions as well as on the lending objectives and lending categories for the years 2010 to 2012".
Some of the trend highlights in the instrument were: mortgage filings and origins increasing; mortgage volumes increasing, fuelled by funding; and there was an increasing dependence on mortgage loans issued by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and those issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Please refer to the full HDMA news and HDMA tools for more information.
