When you are a house owner, you may well have equity in your home.
Equity is the amount by which the value of your real estate differs from any amount of money in your home. As an example, if your house is £175,000 and you have a £100,000 unsecured home loan, your equity is £75,000. Home equity loan is a loan that is backed on your home and allows you to lend some or all of this equity.
