The MAC will be hosting the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships 2018.
Cleveland, Ohio -- The NCAA today announced that the Mid-American Conference and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission will be serving as hosts for the 2018 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. It will take place from 15 to 17 March 2018 at the Quicken Loans Arena. It is the first MAC to stage the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.
MAC will also be hosting the 2015 NCAA Division I Menâs Basketball Championship Regional in Cleveland on March 26 and 28, 2015, which has already been heralded this year. Next 2018 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships and 2015 NCAA Menâs Division I Basketball Championship Regional will be the third and forth event that Quicken Loans Arena will be hosting.
Previously, the NCAA Division I Championship institution organized NCAA Division I Championship event, which included the 2007 Division I Womenâs Basketball Final Four and the 2011 NCAA Menâs Basketball Tournament Second & Third Rounds. The Quicken Loans Arena and the MAC have been working together for many years. The Q has been hosting the MAC Menâs Basketball Tournament (since 2000) and the MAC Womenâs Basketball Tournament (since 2001) for 15 years.
Menâs Basketball in Q is the nation's third longest independent Menâs site event. One of 23 tournaments of the MAC sponsorship, it' wrestles. In the last seasons in luge, the MAC was witness to a conference - the best 11 All-Americans and 40 fighters set in the 2013 NCAA luge Championship.
There are six full MAC members participating in the wrestle, among them: University at Buffalo, Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, Kent State University, Northern Illinois University et Ohio University. The MAC also has three affiliated members in the struggle - the University of Missouri, the University of Northern Iowa and Old Dominion University. The Mid-American is a 12-member NCAA Division I tournament that sponsor 23 tournaments and is one of ten members of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
Representing a combined student population of nearly 300,000, the Liga universities in six (6) states â" Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York and Ohio. Furthermore, a thirteenth â " the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass. Actual MAC colleges that are full members and the year they join are -- East Division:

In the Eastern Division, UMass (2012) only plays soccer. Conferencing office is located in Cleveland, Ohio. The Greater Cleveland Sport Commission is proud to be one of the country's most respected sport commissions, making effective use of sporting event and activity to promote business growth in northeastern Ohio.
It is the Sport Commission's policy that distinguishes it from others by acting as an economy and municipality developing organisation that uses sport as a means of communicating other municipal agenda. The Sport Commission has been in charge of drawing over 135 sport competitions since 2000 and contributes to an economy of more than 395 million dollars. The Quicken Loans Arena, also known as The Q, is home to the NBAâs Cleveland Cavaliers, the Lake Erie Monsters Hockey Leagueâs, the Arena Football Leagueâs Cleveland Gladiators and offers the best in the area.
Every year, The Quartet greets nearly two million spectators at more than 200 venues, including Cavaliers Basel and Monsters Hockey, world-class concert venues, home shows, and major sports such as the Mid-American Conferenceâs (MAC) Menâs and Womenâs post-season Basel-tour. Recently, the NBA hosts the second and third round of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Handball Championships and has also hosted the NBA All-Star Match, the NCAA Women's Final Four and the United States Figure Skating Championships.
