The Goldman Sachs USA Branch of the Goldman Sachs Group, New York, has added three new members to its Management Team. Matthew Barrett, most recently CEO of Barclays PLC (BARC.L); Ann Kaplan, formerly General Partner at Goldman Sachs & Co and now Associate Professor at Columbia University School of Business; and Thomas Melzer, co-founder and managing director of RiverVest venture partners.
On Thursday, the Asia-focused Asian banking group appointed John Peace as chair, leading him to resign as chair of the Experian finance information business (EXPN.L). Mark Britnell has been appointed new President of Healthcare Europe by the auditing, accounting and consulting group. Former General Manager for Start-up and Systems Engineering at the Ministry of Health will join KPMG as a KPMG affiliate with effect from October 1, the corporation said.
UK insurance firm Rob Devey nominated Rob as CEO, Prudential UK and Europe. Colin Philips has been nominated to the position of a Managing Partner by the UK-based UK private equity group. Among other things, Philips will be in charge of commercializing the drug discovery program to prospective customers and financial institutions. Philips steps out of Dresdner Kleinwort's former security trading operations. James Wheatcroft was also nominated by the firm to the position of Lead of Small and Mid-Cap broker.
Wheatcroft was an Institutional Recreationalalyst at Investec Securities and Panmure Gordon before coming to Evolution, and a Senior Vice Chairman of Investec Investment Banking, where he was a Senior Vice Chairman of Investec Group. Brett Carter, an insurer and financier, said he joins the firm as head of mortgage lending operations and vice chairman of mortgage lending. He is currently Chairman of the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association and is also a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association.
Yves Jacob, headquartered in Hong Kong, manages the Asia operations. Previously, Jacob was head of the French corporate origination teams in Paris. Andy Steel was named CEO of the Group's retail banking operations by the Cape Town retail fund company and will be subject to separate branding over the years.
