I' m looking at the change of power supplier before my set rate expires at the end of December. I have been with the same supplier for over 2 years and am paying by credit card without any problem, but after having read an item on this website about vendors who carry out tough credit assessments for new clients, I am worried that a change of supplier will influence my creditworthiness.

EDF, my supplier, doesn't even tell the CRAs. Electricity and gas are paid by direct debit. Twelve month ago, I switched supplier. I' ve just had another bill showing that I am £750 in credit. which to my way of thinking I am cheated. So why should they overtax me by £750 and make interest on my moneys?
There is no need for me to be on credit, I prefer to make payments by debiting if my invoices are always settled.
