Payment services providers replace the roles of card reading terminals in physically managed businesses. This is done by making available a safe payment website on which you can input your card data and safety information.
PSPs can present the MasterCard SecureCode/Verified by Visa page to enhance safety when required by the merchant. Merchants usually charge a set-up charge and a per-trade charge to their payment services company. Payments services sometimes also assume the function of purchaser, which is mirrored in their fees.
If their payment processor does not also have an acquiring capability, merchants must also purchase an acquiring device to complete card operations on its name. It is the acquirer's responsibility to obtain payment information once it has been gathered by the Payment Services provider. She then forwards them via the card system and to the issuing company.
Acquirers also receive payment from the card issuing company and pay it into the retailer's merchant banking accounts. The system verifies whether the invoice addresses specified by the purchaser match the addresses stored by the credit or debit card providers. It is also referred to as the card test value (CVV). That CSC are usually the last three numbers on the back of the card, but custom card systems have their own CSC layouts - American Express for example uses four numbers that are imprinted on the front of the card.
Since the CSC is only imprinted on the card itself, the card holder confirms by presenting it that he holds the card in his physical capacity. FRA may be provided by the purchaser, the payment processor or a third supplier.
