Second Life Introduces Virtual Cards

Singaporian companies have introduced a phantom online payment system that allows you to make payments in the online Second Life area. First Meta, located in Singapore, introduces the meta-cardholder, which sees itself as a "financial service supplier for virtually worlds". MeetaCard calls the enterprise the "first global digital debit card".

It works like a normal debit cards - clients receive a line of credit and use the cards to purchase Linden dollar goods from retailers. Second Life residents must right-click on the article they have bought and then click on "MetaCard" to make payment with the online payment service.

The first meta says that a cardholder can also collect rewards points by using the map for shopping. Clients can also use the Prepaid Cards to receive a "Cash Advance" from First Meta automated teller machines in Second Life. L$300 is the cost per month for one ticket. Credit cards and charges can be purchased at First Meta automatic teller machines around the globe.

First Meta focuses solely on the online space, while a number of Second Life based finance companies have established online branch and office businesses. The German Wirecard Banka, the online Denmark-based Saxo Investmentbank, the Netherlands-based ING and ABN Amro banks have started all activities in the Internet cyberspace.

First to claim EMV in India from ABN Amro

The ABN Amro Bank has introduced the first EMV-compatible MasterCard M/Chip Smartcard to the market in India.
