As Brexit is impending, the number of requests for Ireland Passports is increasing. As the UK is ready to depart from the EU in March 2019, the number of applicants for Ireland has risen sharply. From 2016, the lrish ambassador in London alone has exhibited more than 176,000 passports: Even if you can still obtain an Ireland pass after March, an EU pass, if you are entitled, could make travelling easy in a'no deal' situation.

You need full Ireland nationality to obtain an Ireland passport. It is possible that you are already an Irishman without realizing it. When one of your parent was an Irishman who was in Ireland, you are automatic ly an Irishman regardless of where you were a national. As an alternative, you may be eligible for Ireland nationality, but you must assert it by having your childbirth entered in the Foreign Register of Births if your parent has not already inscribed you.

It can take six month, then you can request a valid visa. If you are a national from the date on which you are entered in the Registry, i.e. only your child after that date is entitled. Citizens Information Boards of the Government of Ireland have compiled a useful chart explaining who is entitled.

Entitles to Ireland nationality if one or both of your parents: Entitles to Ireland nationality by registering your childbirth in the Foreign Births Register, but only if your parental member L was enrolled at the date of your childbirth. The Foreign Register of Origin request begins on-line, but you will need to complete the request and send it to the top right part of the request page.

Unfortunately, you cannot request your first pass on-line. It must be done in person, either at the Embassy of Ireland in London or at the dedicated Glasgow and Liverpool mailpoints. Appointments can be booked at the London Passport Office on-line. As with other passes and visa, it is important to prevent dubious intermediaries who will bill you for an additional set of services that you can get directly from the Government of Ireland (use the link in this article).

Registration in the foreign birth register will cost 278 (or 153 for young people under 18) only by debit/credit cards. After registering - or if you are an automatic Irishman - you can request a valid ID number.
